Do you think unconditional love is possible?

Question

Do you think unconditional love is possible?
Or that it exists? I mean, love with no limitations. A love so strong that no matter what a person did, it wouldnt make you love them any less?

Answer

I dont believe love is unconditional. Even the strongest love changes depending on internalexternal circumstances. What is ever unconditional?Ive never come across the unconditional in human affairs, and even Gods love is conditional e.g., the Christian god will turn his back to you if you willingly reject himclassic attachment theory! hehebrbrYes, these are unspoken conditionsquotdont cheat on me love me back dont abandon me share my values and lifestyle be someone I can respect.quot Would you unconditionally love a person who cheats on you, disrespects you, physically or psychologically harms you or the peoplethings you love? You see, love is contingent on many important, foundational things. Its not that youre not capable of such extraordinary loveyou love people like that at specific points in time, but it doesnt exist forever love is tempered by maturity and context. I think love needs to be conditional, because love needs to adapt, just as we do. Otherwise, its not love but illusion not love but delusion not love but idealismunrealism. If its healthy love, it will have appropriate limits and necessities. brbrNow I realize that in this instance, love is really a euphamism. Were really talking about humans here, and whether humans are unconditionalabsolute. At times we behave unconditionally or absolutely love unconditionally or absolutely, but we inevitably change and so our love changes. In other words, no

Do you think this statement is true?

Question

Do you think this statement is true?
It doesnt matter how you judge people as long as its consistent with how you judge yourself.

Answer

No, its not true. Some judgements will have serious effects even if one is consistent. For example, consider rascists who are determined that members of whatever the chosen quotout groupquot should not be allowed to live. It is perfectly consistent, but morally indefensible, for them to judge others and act of that standard of judgement.
